CVS & Dollar General Coupon Deals

This time of year I always start looking for ways to save money for Christmas.  It still seems far away, but is creeping ever closer.  I coupon year-round, but really try to stock up for holiday goodies and try to cut down on our grocery bill to put the money towards gifts in late summer and early fall.  Items like cereal have a pretty long shelf life and many cereals can serve double purpose in holiday treats like crispy treats, various trail/puppy chow mixes, and all sorts of other tasty desserts from Halloween to New Year’s.  You can read more about my couponing in this article.

Here are a few deals I took advantage of this week.  I probably could find some of these cheaper if I wait for super doubles, but the coupons could expire and I’d rather stock up while I can.

CVS Deals

These two deals require two separate transactions.  You have to do the deal with the extra care bucks (ECBs) first so you will have the ECBs to spend on the next transaction.  You can do them in the same day which is one of the reasons I like to coupon at CVS.  Or, you can come back later in the week if you’re short on time.  Make sure you stop by the coupon kiosk when you come in the store to print your coupons.  You’ll get a candy bar coupon you can use in the second transaction.

CVS Transaction 1

Transaction #1

ECB Deals I used in this transaction:

  • Get $5 ECBs when you spend $20+ on participating Quilted Northern, Sparkle, Angel Soft, and/or All laundry products.  You can do any combo of the items as long as it equals at least $20 before your coupons.
  • Get $2 ECBs when you buy two participating Dial body wash or bar soap 6pks.
  • Get $1 ECBs when you buy two participating Dial bar soap 3pks or Dial Complete hand washes.
  • Get $2 ECBs when you buy two participating Purex liquid laundry detergent, UltraPacks 18ct., or Crystals 18.5oz.

I did all four ECB deals on the first transaction so $10 worth of ECBs printed that I could use towards future orders.

I will likely never be one of those people who walks out of the store with a buggy full of free items.  I only buy what we will really use or can give to a friend or family member who needs the item.  Any savings I can bring to my family makes me feel like I’m contributing financially and that always feels nice.
